Thanks to Rick Phipps and the staff at "The Rose" - FM 104.9, Blast Away will be playing in rotation with other great songs! So keep your radios tuned to "The Rose" to hear my music.
Hopefully, other radio stations will be picking up my music as well, and we will keep you posted as this occurs!
Second Album is coming
My second album is currently underway. The name of the album is yet to be released because of the uncertainty of when it will be completed. Completion is all depending on funds and musician time allotted in studio.
You can look forward to a variety of instruments on the new project unlike Blast Away which was totally acoustic. The next project will be a definite merge of styles--my original style mixed with some jazz, 90's, and contemporary rock.
Don't look for as many co-writers on this album as on the last. Currently, most of the material will be solo written. There will be a few new, "fixed up" versions of songs from Blast Away with a full band which will give the songs a more full, exciting sound.
I'm really excited about getting this album out because it will show everyone a new side of my writing style and musical taste. I'll keep you updated as to when you can start expecting the new project.
Thank you Texas Heritage Music Foundation and the Wayne Kennemer Foundation
Thanks to Dr. Kathleen Hudson, Mrs. Janice Kennemer, and all those on the selection committee for the Wayne Kennemer Memorial Scholarship I was awarded! Your gift to support my music is appreciated SO MUCH!
Schreiner University Choir Concert
On April 22, 2006, Michael Kahl (professor of music at SU) invited me to perform a song I wrote called "A Couple of Girls." His very talented choir backed me up during the chorus and member Kristi Click sang the second verse solo. Her interpretation and presentation was fabulous. The concert was a huge success and I am very honored to have been a part of it. Thanks Michael!
Ingram Talent Show
May 1, 2006 was the Ingram Talent Show. All the acts had a wonderful time and the abundance of talent was amazing! I was priveleged enough to perform in two different acts--the guys I regularly play with (Gonz and Joey) and, earlier in the evening, with a few new guys (Irec Hargrove, Garrett Whitten, and Jeff Achee.) During that performance we played Rage Against the Machine's "Sleep Now In The Fire." It was a blast playing that high intensity song with such talented musicians, plus all the screamin' got all the nervousness out of my system in time for my act!
